For our Finance Division we are looking for a Financial Controller who will be responsible for assisting the Finance team in developing and implementing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts, while monitoring and analyzing financial performance. Overseeing the accounting processes, including financial statement preparation, financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records. Identifying and mitigating financial risks, implementing internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Monitoringand managing cash flow, ensuring optimal utilization of funds, and providing recommendations for financial decisions. Conducting financial analysis, preparing financial models, and providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Coordinating audits, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Job Accountabilities

Administrative Control:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the administrative, finance, and accounts staff.
  • Ensure smooth workflow and equitable distribution of responsibilities.
  • Resolve staff problems and maintain a motivated work environment.

Credit Control:

  • Implement strict credit control measures to maintain overall outstanding debt within acceptable limits.
  • Ensure no customer enjoys credit exceeding 90 days, with an average outstanding below 50 days.
  • Personally monitor overdue invoices beyond 90 days.
  • Conduct weekly outstanding reviews with the team and resolve any issues.

Inventory Management:

  • Enforce strict control over inventory, with a maximum limit of 2 months’ worth of average annual sales.
  • Review purchase orders based on monthly average sales, current inventory, pending orders, and expected free material from suppliers.
  • Prevent losses due to expired materials in any branch.
  • Implement 5S systems in all warehouses.
  • Conduct monthly stock audits and submit reports to management.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Maintain records of free samples issued and ensure credit notes are issued accordingly.
  • Handle all credit/debit note-related work.
  • Manage all key performance indicator (KPI)-related tasks.
  • Generate daily management information system (MIS) reports detailing sales, collections, inventory, and outstanding balances.
  • Release payments to sundry creditors twice a month, ensuring thorough checks on invoices.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts on a quarterly basis.
  • Handle GST returns and other GST-related tasks.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
  • Update and cross-verify Rajkot and Ahmedabad accounts.
  • Update sales tax assessment files monthly.

Accounting and Financial Analysis:

  • Audit every single invoice for accuracy, including rates, quantities, totals, and receipts as per ERP purchase orders.
  • Keep the profit and loss (P&L) account and balance sheet up to date with necessary provisions on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor gross profit, net profit, stock levels, sundry creditors, and sundry debtors on a daily basis.
  • Implement alerts for any figures exceeding predefined standards.

Process and Procedure Compliance:

  • Monitor and improve department key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Implement and maintain the company’s procedures and manuals.
  • Ensure error-free accounting practices and adherence to company expense budgets.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis tools.

  • Strong computer knowledge with advanced knowledge of Excel including V lookup/ Pivot charts / Data Validation / Conditional formatting, type if, macros etc.
  • Excellent project management skills, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate productively with cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of B2B marketing strategies and tactics and their application in a professional services organization.
